Fire & Wood

Proverb

Water far away won’t quench the thirst you have now.

Poem

Quick-spreading flames
Char once-dense woods.
Low-stooping falcon
Bends in for the kill.
I have not yet seen my lord
And my heart is sore.

Meditation

Fire consumes wood, just as love –
especially unrequited love,
or love for someone far from you –
can consume the lover.
There is nothing more to say.
