Water & Yin
Proverb
No matter how many times a river divides, it still ends up in the sea.
Poem
The Kiang splits and joins again
Our lady went to be wed
An didn’t take her maids.
She wouldn’t take us!
But afterwards – oh, she was sorry.
Meditation
You can dodge, twist, turn and hide, but in the end you will have to face the truth.
This wonderfully sharp poem – what a final line! – puts this very bluntly.
The proverb does so more gently.
Life does flow to its end.
The question is whether you can understand that and act accordingly.
Live each day as if it were you last, the Bible says.
