Only cracked eggs draw flies.

Even the flood-waters
Will not carry off well-bound wood
You and I are together
As long as life lasts.
Do not believe the rumours;
They are nothing but lies.

We two are kin
As long as life lasts.
Do not believe people’s lies;
They are simply not to be trusted.
Meditation
If there is truth, nothing can break it;
not rumours, nor lies.
If there is falsehood
– the cracked egg of the proverb –
then it will soon become apparent.
